FR. 1230 1st Issue 5 Cents XF

Here is a crisp 5 cent postal currency bank note. These bank notes were designed to gain the trust of the people. Back in the 1860’s citizens could use this bank note as a stamp on their letters. It is possible that this one came off of an envelope. Observe the scrap book residue on the upper right side of the back of the note. This note also features the American Banknote Company monogram on the lower right of the backside of the note
